“Meet the NOSHC staff!”

Melody Benedic is an Audiologist at New Orleans Speech and Hearing Center. If you don’t see her on the first floor of the Uptown location taking walk-ins or appointments, you will find her working at Lambeth House or administering hearing tests to children at various schools across New Orleans.

Melody began working at NOSHC as a fourth year Audiology doctoral student at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2009. Upon graduation, she was hired as NOSHC’s second full time Audiologist; a hiring that was a part of NOSHC’s staff expansion goals.

Melody’s aspiration to become an Audiologist stemmed from her desire to be able to help people communicate with friends and family more effectively. And that is exactly what she does here every day. Whether it is hearing evaluations, hearing aid customization and fitting, or testing for Auditory Processing Disorders (APD), Melody does it all. She is known for her expertise in APD. Other NOSHC staff describe Melody as, “energetic, outgoing, and extremely knowledgeable.”

Melody's skill, proficiency, and personable nature make her a perfect fit to work with everyone from ages 1 to 100. She strives to be someone who her clients feel comfortable talking about any issues they may be experiencing with their hearing. NOSHC is fortunate to have Melody as one of their dedicated staff.
